Club Design Contests
Designers, ignite your creativity! In support of AGMC’s annual September show, the club will be sponsoring several design contests for the classes to participate in. The first one is off and running with the generous donation of a beautiful cabochon by Dale Miller. The cabochon is a mixture of azurite, malachite, turquoise, and magnesite. It measures approximately 46.5mm by 21mm, and can be oriented vertically, horizontally, or somewhere in between. The silversmithing classes and chainmaking classes have been challenged to design a setting for this gorgeous stone. The winning design will be selected, and the winner(s) will fabricate and donate their piece to the club for the raffle. The cab will be on display in the case at the club.
The glass classes and the wirewrapping class have also been invited to design and make a piece for the raffle. But, the fun doesn’t stop there! All classes are invited to participate by designing and making a piece that represents their particular media and skills. All pieces are to be donated to the club for the raffle. Here is a chance to show off for the public. The show is September 5 – 6, so you have plenty of time. If you have questions, please contact Emie Stewart. Let the creativity flow! |
